Over two decades, the health and well-being of New Jersey children has improved in many key areas, from more children attending preschool, fewer 4th graders failing reading tests and more teens graduating on time from high school, according to the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s 25th edition of its annual KIDS COUNT Data Book.

Great News: Bill s-2027 requiring family day care workers history background checks passed!.

S-2027 would require state-registered family child care providers and adults living in the household to undergo criminal history background checks. Currently, these providers and household members are not required to undergo this critical safety check.

This a basic child safety issue. This common-sense measure will help ensure that children are in safe environments while their parents work.
