As a parent of <number of children> young children ages <ages of children> living in <town/city>, we have enjoyed some of the benefits of living in the state of New Jersey, yet I continue to face significant challenges accessing services and supports for my children and our family to thrive.

That’s why this year, to bring attention to the needs of families with infants and toddlers, I partnered with Advocates for Children of New Jersey (ACNJ) to participate in their Strolling Thunder NJ event. As part of this annual rally for babies, parents like me from around the state are meeting with our legislators to share our experiences raising young children in New Jersey.

During my meeting, I discussed <Enter 1-3 sentences about your story or experience, for example, share your experiences with child birth, the impact of parental leave policies, breastfeeding in the workplace, child care accessibility, affordability and quality, postpartum support including home visiting programs and mental health, and/or nutrition program support, like the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)>

The COVID-19 pandemic has been devastating to families and children but now the state has a unique opportunity to address long-standing problems that will ensure the optimal development of our infants and toddlers. That’s why we are calling on our state representatives to take the first step towards a brighter future for our children. <Add 1-2 sentences about your ask for your legislators> Help us make New Jersey the safest and most supportive state to give birth and raise a family.
