ACNJ’s partners in advancing the birth-to-3 agenda New

In late 2017, ACNJ partnered with The Nicholson Foundation, the Turrell Fund and the Caucus Educational Fund to launch the Right From The Start NJ Campaign, a public awareness and advocacy effort to ensure that every child, birth to 3, has the opportunity for the early relationships, environments and experiences they need to support their healthy growth and development. ACNJ serves as the advocacy and policy arm of this campaign, focused on putting birth-to-3 on the public agenda. Soon after launching Right From the Start NJ, ACNJ was chosen to lead the statewide effort as one of six states selected for the national ZERO TO THREE “Think Babies” campaign, bringing attention to what babies and families need to thrive.

Right From The Start NJ is dedicated to ensuring the resources and services are in place so that infants and toddlers in New Jersey can achieve the highest level of cognitive, emotional, and physical development possible.

The campaign focuses on three areas:
Expanding opportunities for high-quality early care and education
• Supporting parents as their children’s first and best teachers
• Ensuring access to appropriate health care

The Right From the Start NJ campaign is led by:

The Turrell Fund was founded in 1935 by Herbert and Margaret Turrell. The Fund supports organizations which directly provide for or foster the creation and delivery of quality developmental and educational services to at-risk children, especially the youngest, and their families, in Vermont and designated areas of New Jersey.

The Nicholson Foundation is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of vulnerable populations in New Jersey. The Foundations seeks to improve health and early childhood outcomes by implementing strategies that inform policy and transform service delivery systems.

ZERO TO THREE works to ensure that all babies have a good start in life. The earliest relationships a child has with parents and caregivers dramatically influence brain development, future health and success in school and life. Zero to Three helps nurture relationships by transforming the science of early practical tools and responsive policymakers and advocates.

The Caucus Educational Corporation (CEC) is a non-profit, educational multi-media production company. The CEC produces a variety of programming to keep NJ citizens informed on an array of topics. Through funding from underwriters who value public television and what it has to offer, the CEC is able to produce high quality, relevant video programming. Coverage includes health care, education, NJ politics, lifestyle, arts, business and economic issues, and more.

Advocates for Children of New Jersey (ACNJ) works with local, state, and federal leaders to identify and implement changes that will benefit New Jersey's children. ACNJ's bi-partisan work results in better laws and policies, more effective funding and stronger services for children and families. This means more children are given the chance to grow up safe, healthy and educated.

As a lead partner in New Jersey’s Right from the Start campaign and a proud partner of the national ZERO TO THREE Think Babies campaign, ACNJ is working to promote enriching early experiences and a strong foundation for development from the start. Read about our partners
