ACNJ & NJAEYC's 9:30 Call - 5/4/26 w/guests Jessica Cowan & Ellen Samitt of MSU's SEFI program
Gary Romano, Civitas Strategies, LLC: Tax credits are often misunderstood. A tax deduction reduces taxable income, while a tax credit reduces taxes owed dollar-for-dollar. For small providers who operate on thin margins, that difference can translate into thousands of dollars that can go back into their business and their own financial future and help small businesses use current policy to support workforce stability and business sustainability. In this session, we will unpack a few credits that do exactly that.

ACNJ & NJAEYC's 9:30 Call - 2/2/26 with guests Rita Koromi, Lauren Small, Amanda DiScala & more
This call included guests Rita Koromi, Lauren Small, Amanda DiScala & more from NJ’s Shared Services Initiative. NJ's SSI is a statewide effort to support early care and education providers through collaborative alliances. Typically housed within Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) agencies, these alliances are membership-based organizations offering tailored services to meet the unique needs of their communities. Services are offered to licensed childcare centers and registered family child care providers. The overarching goal of the NJ Shared Services Alliances is to enhance business and educational leadership across participating sites by creating systems enabling members to share staff, resources and information effectively. Joining the Shared Services Alliance can have numerous benefits for early care and education centers, enabling them to streamline administrative processes, reduce cost and focus on delivering high-quality programming, all while leveraging the expertise and resources of other like-minded and programmed organizations.

ACNJ & NJAEYC's 9:30 Call - 1/5/26 with Guests Jax Richards & Militza Mezquita of Save The Children
Guests Jax Richards & Militza Mezquita of Save The Children discuss how their team is currently expanding their Child Care Emergency Resiliency Network to the Atlantic coast, building on the success of their Gulf Coast Resiliency Network. This initiative connects child care providers with practical preparedness training, planning tools, and emergency support—all offered free of charge—to help programs stay safe and recover more quickly when disasters occur. As part of this effort, they're hoping to identify a few key child care contacts in New Jersey who may be interested in these resources or who could serve as strong local partners in developing a regional Atlantic network. They're especially looking to connect with larger center-based providers or early learning coalitions that work directly with child care programs.
